Invitation from LOC
Mauri ora ki a koutou katoa. Nau mai, haere mai, ki Tamaki Makaurau, ki Te Waitemata.
The Local Organising Committee calls and welcomes you to attend the 17th Congress of the Asia and Pacific Division of the International Association of Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research in the South Pacific. The 2010 Congress incorporates the 7th International Urban Watershed Management Conference and is being organised by The University of Auckland and The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.
As hosts for the 2010 Congress, the Local Organising Committee values the unique cultural identity and hospitality the Auckland Region offers. The best expressions of this Pasifika uniqueness and hospitality are being woven into the Congress programme to ensure your attendance is a memorable experience.
Imagine an urban environment where everyone lives within half an hour of beautiful beaches, hiking trails and a dozen enchanted holiday islands including Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands. Auckland is indeed an amazing city, boasting three harbours, two mountain ranges, 48 volcanic cones and more than 50 islands. Auckland's population is approximately 1.3 million, making it by far the largest city in New Zealand. Auckland is also the largest Polynesian city in the world, and South Pacific influences are evident everywhere.
The Congress will be a forum that welcomes new research findings and practitioner innovations addressing the many water related challenges of the Asia-Pacific area. Alongside IAHR members, other researchers, practitioners, and students are also welcome to contribute abstracts for consideration.
